Conversation Groups

Attending conversation groups is a great opportunity for members to increase their skills in French.

In Rockhampton

The conversation groups meets every second Friday (see calendar for dates) and every Saturday:

Alternate Fridays – 1.00 p.m. to 2.30 pm at the Coffee Star, Bolsover Street, North Rockhampton. If unsure whether it is a meeting week or not, call Pat  on 4934 1363 or consult our calendar.

Every Saturday – from 1.30 pm at The Two Professors, 49 William St, Rockhampton City QLD 4700.

In Yeppoon

The conversation groups meets every second and fourth Saturday of the month  at 2.00 pm at The Waterline Café, Rosslyn Bay Marina.

There is no charge other than the cost of a drink, although members often order lunch from the restaurant menu.

Everyone is welcome and many come on a casual basis. Joining in with this group is a great way of gaining confidence in listening to and speaking French. Usually there is a mix of novices and fluent speakers who are always willing to help. Membership of the Alliance Française is required for regular attendees.

Occasionally the venue is changed but members are notified by email. Approximately once a month an evening meeting is held at a restaurant or tavern. This replaces the day time meeting for that day.
